Overview

Rivers of Blood is the most infamous bleed weapon in Elden Ring. Its Corpse Piler skill fires waves of blood in a wide arc, building Hemorrhage extremely fast and dealing massive damage to anything caught in the strike zone. This katana has defined the bleed meta since launch and remains one of the most effective PvE weapons in the game despite balance adjustments. Stats & Scaling

Requires STR 12, DEX 18, ARC 20. At max upgrade (+10 Somber), scaling becomes STR E, DEX C, ARC C.

How to Get Rivers of Blood

1. Progress to the Mountaintops of the Giants area via the Grand Lift of Rold after defeating Morgott.
2. Travel to the Church of Repose Site of Grace, located in the southeastern part of the zone near the frozen lake.
3. Walk east from the church toward the frozen river. Bloody Finger Okina will invade as a red NPC spirit near the tree line.
4. Defeat Bloody Finger Okina — he uses bleed attacks himself, so bring bleed-resistant armor or boluses.
5. The Rivers of Blood katana drops automatically upon Okina's defeat. No farming required.

Moveset & Skill

Corpse Piler (17 FP)

Corpse Piler performs 6 consecutive blood slashes in a wide arc. The first two are horizontal sweeping slashes that stagger most enemies, followed by four rapid uppercut finishers. Each slash builds significant Hemorrhage. The skill can be chained 2-3 times before FP runs dry at base Mind. Damage and bleed buildup scale primarily with Arcane, making high ARC investment critical for this weapon.
