Liurnia of the Lakes is an expansive, misty region north of Stormveil Castle, dominated by a shallow lake system and the towering Raya Lucaria Academy at its center. It is the domain of the Carian royal family and serves as the primary magic-focused area of Elden Ring. The region is split into three main sub-areas: the lake itself with its scattered ruins and towers, the eastern cliffs leading to the Divine Tower of Liurnia, and the western peninsula hosting Caria Manor and the Three Sisters — home to Ranni's questline. Liurnia is vast, perhaps the largest region in the game, and is best explored methodically.

From Lake-Facing Cliffs, follow the highway north to Raya Lucaria Academy. Before entering, explore the eastern cliffs for the Divine Tower access. After Rennala, head west to Caria Manor and the Three Sisters to begin Ranni's questline. The Village of the Albinaurics in the southwest is optional but critical for reaching the Consecrated Snowfield late-game. Pro Tip
The Academy Glintstone Key is essential to enter Raya Lucaria. If you cannot find it outside the main gate, there is a second key at the Bellum Church. Also, Caria Manor is deceptively dangerous — the hand-spiders can grab and one-shot you. Use striking weapons or fire damage for best results.
