Caelid Map Guide

A nightmarish scarlet rot-infested wasteland in eastern Limgrave, home to Radahn Festival and Dragon Communion.

Region

Caelid

Level Range

60-90

Main Boss

Starscourge Radahn

Key Items

Radagon's Soreseal, Moonveil, Meteorite Staff + Rock Sling

Overview

Caelid is a hellish, scarlet-rot-infested region in the eastern part of the Lands Between. The sky burns red, the ground is choked with rot, and enemies hit significantly harder than anything in Limgrave or Liurnia. Players can access Caelid early through a trapped chest in the Dragon-Burnt Ruins (Limgrave) that teleports them to Sellia Crystal Tunnel, but the region is balanced for level 60-90. Despite its hostile nature, Caelid offers some of the best early-game gear in Elden Ring, including the Meteorite Staff, Rock Sling sorcery, and Moonveil katana.

Key Locations

Sellia Crystal Tunnel

The trap chest destination from Limgrave. Exit is behind the boss mist gate. Challenges early visitors.

Sellia, Town of Sorcery

A magically sealed town requiring three flame torches to unlock. Contains the Night Comet sorcery and several scrolls.

Fort Faroth

A fort in Dragonbarrow. Grants the Dectus Medallion (Right) half. Also home to the Radagon's Soreseal talisman.

Dragonbarrow

The northern half of Caelid, even higher level. Features Elder Dragon Greyoll and the Bestial Sanctum.

Cathedral of Dragon Communion

South Caelid church where you exchange Dragon Hearts for incantations.

Redmane Castle

The arena of the Radahn Festival. Must defeat Starscourge Radahn to progress Ranni's questline and access Nokron.

Bosses

Starscourge Radahn

The shardbearer of Caelid. A massive, gravity-magic-wielding general. Fought in a festival with summonable NPC allies. Drops Radahn's Great Rune and Remembrance.

Commander O'Neil

Located in the Aeonia Swamp. Summons soldiers and uses rot. Drops the Unalloyed Gold Needle and Commander's Standard.

Elder Dragon Greyoll

A massive immobile dragon in Dragonbarrow. Attacking her tail kills her instantly. Drops 80,000+ Runes and 5 Dragon Hearts.

Decaying Ekzykes

A rot-spewing dragon on the Caelid Highway. Drops a Dragon Heart.

Godskin Apostle (Divine Tower)

Found in the Divine Tower of Caelid basement. Drops the Godslayer's Greatsword and Scouring Black Flame.

Items & Loot

Radagon's Soreseal

Fort Faroth rooftop. Boosts Vigor, Endurance, Strength, Dexterity by +5 each at the cost of -15% damage absorption. Arguably the best talisman in the game for melee builds.

Moonveil

Gael Tunnel boss drop (Magma Wyrm). One of the best katanas in the game with a fast, high-damage weapon skill.

Meteorite Staff + Rock Sling

Meteorite Staff is found in the Street of Sages Ruins (south Aeonia Swamp). Rock Sling is found nearby. This staff cannot be upgraded but has S-tier scaling and boosts gravity sorceries.

Route Guide

WARNING: Caelid is significantly higher level than Limgrave. If coming early, rush to the Street of Sages Ruins for the Meteorite Staff and Rock Sling, then Gael Tunnel for Moonveil. Head north to Fort Faroth for Radagon's Soreseal and the Dectus Medallion. For progression, clear Redmane Castle by defeating Radahn (activate the festival by talking to the NPC in the castle or advancing Ranni's quest). The Dragonbarrow and Divine Tower are late-game areas.

Pro Tip

Radagon's Soreseal in Fort Faroth makes this region worth visiting even for low-level characters. If you are struggling with the run to the talisman, use Torrent to rush past everything and climb the ladder on the fort's exterior. Also, the sleeping Elder Dragon Greyoll near Fort Faroth is an easy 80,000+ rune farm with a bleed weapon.
