Overview

The Bleed build is one of the most powerful and accessible setups in Elden Ring, capable of melting even the toughest bosses in seconds. By stacking Arcane and equipping weapons with innate Hemorrhage buildup like Carian Regal Scepter, you trigger percentage-based blood loss damage that scales with the enemy's maximum HP. This build excels in both PvE and PvP, offering high damage output with relatively low stat investment compared to pure Strength or Intelligence builds. The core strategy revolves around aggressive dual-wielding with katanas or curved swords, supplemented by the White Mask helmet and Lord of Blood's Exultation talisman for massive damage spikes when bleed procs.

Stats & Gear

Talismans

  • Graven-Mass Talisman — 8% sorcery damage increase
  • Magic Scorpion Charm — 12% magic damage boost
  • Radagon Icon — Shortens cast time (equals 30 DEX virtual)
  • Primal Glintstone Blade — Reduces FP costs by 25%

Playstyle & Strategy

The bleed playstyle revolves around constant aggression. You want to stay in the enemy's face, chaining light attacks with dual katanas to build up the Hemorrhage meter as quickly as possible. Corpse Piler (Carian Regal Scepter's unique skill) is your bread and butter — it fires repeated blood slashes in a wide arc that deal massive damage and build bleed extremely fast. Against bosses, open with Seppuku on your off-hand to pre-buff, then rush in with running L1 powerstance attacks. Once the bleed procs, the White Mask and Lord of Blood's Exultation activate simultaneously, giving you a massive damage window to Corpse Piler spam.

Your boss-killer combo is Comet Azur with the Cerulean Hidden Tear in your Flask of Wondrous Physick. Cast Terra Magica (+35% damage), drink your Physick (infinite FP for 10 seconds), then channel Comet Azur. Most bosses lose 60-80% of their HP. Use Adula's Moonblade for frostbite procs on bosses that survive the initial burst. For exploration, Loretta's Greatbow snipes enemies from outside their detection range. The pure caster struggles against magic-resistant foes (Rennala, Red Wolf), so keep a magic-infused melee weapon as backup.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Safest playstyle — kill bosses from range
  • Massive single-target burst with Comet Azur
  • Diverse spell options for every situation
  • Excellent for exploration and stealth
  • Frostbite procs from cold sorceries

Cons

  • Very squishy (lowest VIG of all builds)
  • FP management is critical and challenging
  • Struggles against magic-resistant foes
  • Tight corridors and fast enemies are problematic
  • Cerulean Hidden Tear is a one-shot; miss and you waste it

Pro Tip

Equip Azur's Glintstone Staff in your off-hand for the cast speed passive — you don't need to meet the stat requirements for the passive to work. Cast with your main Carian Regal Scepter for maximum damage while benefiting from the faster casting animation.
